PG Capital Equity Fund

Phoenix Global Capital Equity Fund (PGCEF)

The PG Capital Equity Fund is structured as an open-ended investment vehicle that invests primarily in the equity instruments of local companies, as well as in the underwriting of select classes of equity and equity-linked instruments.

The Fund seeks to deliver both income and capital preservation by diversifying across high-value, growth-oriented, and undervalued stocks approved by the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC). In addition, the Fund will generate supplementary income through underwriting fees, by supporting equity issuances from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). These underwritten instruments may later be sold at a market premium, creating added value for investors.

The underwriting component responds directly to the rising demand from SMEs seeking to access capital markets via equity offerings. Issues backed by the Fund will be permitted to draw down a defined percentage of their total issuance value, with the underwriting support serving as a strong market signal to boost investor confidence and enhance subscription levels.

The Fund is designed for investors who might not otherwise access high-value or scarce growth stocks and who may lack the resources to identify undervalued equities with strong return potential. Its investment strategy will focus on equities in the following sectors:

  • Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG)
  • Banking & Financial Services
  • Telecommunications
  • Health CareThe Fund is denominated in Naira (₦) and capitalized with up to ₦5 billion.
